The club is sited in the beautiful Abbey Gardens on the seafront of Torquay in South Devon referred to more popularly as the English Riviera.

The gardens with their palm trees overlook the beauty of Torbay encompassing the towns of Brixham, Paignton and Torquay. All easily linked by car, bus or sea ferries.

Our picture show at the top of the page give you a taster of some of the views that can be enjoyed within Torbay

Within easy reach from Torquay is the beautiful National Park of Dartmoor. (20 miles), Plymouth (26 miles) and Exeter (20 miles).

Adjacent to the gardens and to the rear of the Club Pavilion is Torre Abbey (shown left). This is an ancient building to which Torbay Council with English Heritage have carried out extensive restoration taking almost four years to complete.

Visitors to Torquay and touring the interesting Abbey, can also visit the Spanish Barn, so named after the Spanish prisoners of war who where held there following the defeat of the Spanish Armada in 1588.

There are two full size lawn bowling greens in the gardens, the upper lawn green being used by visitors to Torquay who wish to try their skills at lawn bowls and the lower green being used by Victoria Bowling Club. The Club green is used annually in June for the prestigious Torquay Bowling Tornament whose participants have come afar as South Africa to take part. The dates of the Tournament for 2011 are 19th to 26th June inc.

In September, the National Ladies Top Club League, sponsored by the TLH Leisure, will be held here on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th September 2011.

Our future plans are to extend the present pavilion in order to make our visitors even more comfortable and to support a winter social side to the club including the facility of short mat bowling etc.

The club is affiliated to Bowls England, Bowls Devon, Mid Devon League, Ladies Gallery League, Men’s Over 55’s League and the Riviera Mixed Triples League. The latter was formed by two of our members in 2006.

In 2008 for the very first time, our Ladies and Gents were able to field two teams each in their respective leagues.

Our Club colours are Blue and Gold.
