The Ellacombe B.C. (est. 1928) and the Torquay Post Office B.C. (est. 1932) shared the Ellacombe Bowling Green in the centre of Torquay for many years until in 2000 it was decided that due to falling numbers in both clubs we should amalgamate.

Adopting the logo of the mythical bird the Phoenix, which arose from its own ashes the Victoria Bowling Club was born. We continued to use the Ellacombe Green until 2005 when we moved to our present site on the Torquay sea front in the the lovely Abbey Gardens with panoramic views of Torbay.
